What Does The Bible Say About Zodiac Signs?

What the Bible says about zodiac signs is a question I have always wondered about, since it's not really talked about in today’s society. It's important to know that the Bible never specifically says the word's zodiac signs when you read it but we can dig deeper into the meaning of zodiac signs. Zodiac signs aren't just a bunch of star signs; they go a lot deeper than that. In a way zodiac signs were created to help tell the future. The idea is that depending on when you were born and the zodiacal position of the moon, sun and stars affect your personality, intelligence or your compatibility to another person.

In astrology, the twelve zodiac signs are split into four groups which are fire, earth, water, and air. Some believe that they all work together and become whole, meaning that depending on your birthday, your sign, and what element goes with said sign, everyone together creates a comprehensive whole. Now astrology isn’t just made up of the zodiac signs and their elements either, there are more complex groups to help make one ‘unique’ but that is super complex so it is often not known. But what does this have to do with the Bible? And why do Christians often say zodiac signs are bad?

Well, zodiac signs in itself aren't necessarily bad, but the belief that they work or that you can tell the future based on a zodiac sign is where it becomes a sin. But how do we know this if the Bible doesn’t use the term zodiac. Well we know that worshipping idols is a sin, as it is the first of the ten commandments (“You shall have no other god before me.”) But one verse that specifically stood out to me in Psalms 115:4-8 says:

“But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them."

We know that zodiac signs are a concept that humans create over time, which is one of the signs that tell us that it is idolizing to believe in them. So whether you believe that zodiac signs work or not, they are not made by God, meaning they are not godly or righteous in His sight.
