With the chilly winter months approaching, these easy to make and use hand warmers are the perfect solution for keeping your hands warm.
Firstly, you’ll need some supplies:
Supplies Needed:
2 Pieces of Fabric (100%Cotton or flannel)
Cotton Thread
Scissors
A Ruler or Measuring Tape
A Sewing Needle
Rice (Uncooked)
Then you can make your own handwarmer in just a few easy steps:
Take your 2 pieces of fabric and make sure they are square or circular, and about as big as the palm of your hand (or measuring 5 inches by 5 inches.)¹
Then take your sewing needle and thread and begin stitching the two pieces of fabric together, but just before you finish, leave a hole that is about 2 cm in width so that you can add the rice.
Once you’ve finished that, you can add the uncooked rice and fill up the handwarmer about ¾ of the way.
Now finish your stitch and tie off the string. Make sure that no rice falls out and that your stitches are tight.
Time to heat up warm in the microwave for the recommended 30 seconds and enjoy!
